We are talking about an energy that not only enters our ears and our brains and is able to affect our nervous system, but which also goes into our cellular structure and has the ability to rearrange our molecules. /Quote by Jonathan Goldman

The term soundhealing itself is like an umbrella for the different kinds of sounds and techniques that are used to create balance in the physical and energetic body.

Sound Healing is the conscious directing of sound energy to promote wellbeing in the human system - including the expansion of consciousness.

It is based on the premise that all matter vibrates at specific frequencies. Many ancient civilizations and indigenous cultures have used sound to heal and access higher levels of consciousness for thousands of years to enable an improvement on all levels of our being.

Also the word CYMATICS has reached many ears- the beautiful geometric shapes that are being created as Frequencies are played to specific elements as water or sand, to make visible that everything vibrates in specific patterns and that vibration creates shapes and forms matter!

Did you know that Person comes from 'per sonare' - to sound?

And didn't Nikola Tesla say that 'If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.'

We are sound-beings, vibrational beings and we can come back into balance by tuning what has been out of tune for too long. We love to call this Sound Alignment aswell. Coming back to our inner Harmony through sonic healing, through sound.

For a Soundbath there are no physical fitness or flexibility requirements, and it’s something that can be equally enjoyed by new and experienced practitioners alike. It is best to come well hydrated as sound travels best through water, 4 times faster than in air is possible.

Science has proved that the crystal lattice is very similar in form to the DNA double-helix structure and has an ability to store, reproduce, amplify, harmonise, and radiate electromagnetic forces. The Crystal Singing Bowls are here to sing us into alignment with our true nature, they each individually have an inherent and collective intelligence. Shamans know the crystals as living rocks and it is true that their ability to transmute energy and transform consciousness has been known throughout time. The sounds of quartz, precious metals, gemstones and minerals, create a pulsating heavenly sound that the body, mind and spirit welcomes. These waves of vibration are in harmony with the cyclical nature of life, breath, biorhythms, tidal rhythms, changing seasons, the waxing and waning of the moon, planetary and galactic cycles. Their voices ebb and flow, expand and contract, allowing each moment to take us into the deepest peace - a natural transcendence. (from Genevra Jolie, Crystal Tones/Alchemy Singing Bowls UK)

There are several elements to the sound of the Crystal Singing Bowls that make them incredibly suited for meditation and sound healing purposes. Unique to the Crystal Singing Bowls is the presence of what are called vocal formants. Understanding what formants are is as simple as singing vowels such as ‘ahh’ or ‘oooh.’ Formants are the elements of sound that makes vowels sound like they do. The bowl or bell shape gives the sound similar characteristics to the human voice. This quality is why they are known as singing bowls. The use of both bells and choirs is a well-known part of many religious and spiritual ceremonies. Studies have also shown that the human mind reacts positively to the sound of singing. One need only picture a mother calming a child with the sound of her voice, or a yogi chanting OM to understand how deeply we react to vowel sounds and singing.

They are excellent tools for creating natural binaural beat tones. Scientific studies and a multitude of experiences by practitioners suggest that the use of binaural beats is an effective way to treat anxiety and similar disorders, and to achieve a meditative mental state The Crystal Singing Bowls offer a unique advantage over beats created by synthesized tones because the sounds are created acoustically. The sound is natural, more complex, and more pleasant to listen to. Importantly: when two bowls are used, the process of entrainment occurs naturally between the two as they feed back between each other and cause each other to resonate towards a state of equilibrium.

The Singing Bowls generate not one single note, but several. Musically speaking these are known as the fundamental note (lowest note) and the harmonics. The harmonics generally follow musical intervals, so playing a single bowl has similarities to playing a chord on a piano. What the ‘chord’ might be depends on the construction of each individual bowl. In some cases the harmonics are close enough to each other in pitch that they add a natural vibrato to the sound, following the same principle of interference beating that makes binaural beats possible. Think of a piano player using major or minor chords to make their audience feel different emotions. Another example would be Tibetan monks overtoning so as to create multiple tones with their voices.

The addition of metals or gemstones to the Alchemy Crystal Bowls adds another dimension to the sound. They add their own qualities by dampening or filtering the pure crystal sound. Especially in the case of metals such as gold or platinum, they also add the resonant characteristics of these materials. For example, with a Gold Alchemy bowl, the sound will be smoother and slightly metallic. Consider how a classical composer might use the softer sound of a violin or cello to evoke feelings of nostalgia, or she may employ the more metallic sound of brass instruments to give more energy to the music. The alchemy elements subtly alter the sound for a similar range of effects.

Each of these elements on their own has beneficial effects to human psychology. The Crystal Singing Bowls take all these different elements, each with positive effects, and integrate them into a single, holistic system that is rooted in ancient tradition. A skilled bowl player takes advantage of all of these elements. Through proper playing technique one can emphasize or eliminate any of the tones that the bowls are able to make. This means that by means of biofeedback, or reacting to how the player feels and what they hear and changing the sound accordingly, she can tailor the experience of playing the singing bowls according to how she feels.

"The Sound of Crystal Singing Bowls" is an Article by Sam Gileadi/ Sound Engineer for Crystal Tones

Crystal Singing bowls date back to the quartz faience bowls from the 13th Dynasty Egypt - (1,700 B.C.E. - nearly 4,000 years old!). Faience is the oldest artificial substance, first made in Egypt 5,500 years ago, a millennium before glass was invented. It had a core of powdered quartz particles that are fused to each other with heat (much like the crystal singing bowls of today).

Grand Gong Master Don Conreaux says: “The sound of the gong helps people to let go their resentments, limitations, and prejudices; it brings peace, friendship and love. The first day of world peace will come when people of the Earth will take each others’ hands, give thanks to life and listen to the song of gongs, announcing peace on the planet.”

Using sound as a form of healing dates back to ancient cultures. Records of using gongs have surfaced from as early as ancient Indian, Tibetan, Egyptian, Greek, and Roman times. The Gong has the widest range of Sound that can sometimes instantly impact the mind-body and soul from its core levels. When you are in an optimal state of physical and mental health, all of the systems in your body are working in harmony. Sound can be an effective way to reprogramme your own vibrations to a more optimal state. At the mental level, for example, the drone-like sounds from a gong can entrain your brainwaves to a lower state (the alpha and theta states) where healing and restoration can occur. If your mind is always in overdrive (when the mind is predominantly in the beta brainwave state), you will likely feel stressed and overwhelmed. If you can spend more time in a relaxed mental state, that has an overall calming effect on the mind and body. And vice versa – when the body can enter a deep state of rest, that also helps the mind relax. When you are in a relaxed state, there is a greater chance for harmony and health.

The sound of a gong is strong and rich in harmonics. By means of sound waves, dermatomes (an area of skin that is mainly supplied by a single spinal nerve. Sound stimuli travel along sensory neurons into different parts of the body and affect the vibrations of different organs) are stimulated and transfer the message of vibration into the body. The most positive results of treatment are observed in eliminating headaches, migraines, menstrual conditions, spinal pains and injuries. The sound balances the activity of various glands and eliminates breathing problems. Exposure to the gong sound enables psychoacoustic passage into different states of consciousness and into the field of unconsciousness. Statistically significant positive changes have been notices in treating autists, schizophrenics and drug addicts. In a meditative state, achieved by playing the gongs, pressures and the contents of the mind become loose. Easiness leads to unusual and so called superior states of mind, which are otherwise experienced by drug addicts. Yogi Bhajan developed the Superhealth programme in which the gong is used for treating addicts or restoring a healthy electromagnetic field since sound balances the activity of the nervous system and opens spiritual connections. You are welcome to come and experience the benefits of a Gongbath or Gong Therapy Session for yourself!

BRAIN WAVES & why we mention them

Brain Waves shift as you experience sound and/or breath work, it happens naturally. As you relax and the frequencies are heard by your whole body (yes we hear with our ears but your cells are vibrated by the sounds) and vibrate your whole system your brain waves shift down from Beta to Alpha or Theta. Note: The sense of hearing is the last sense that leaves the body when we die. And also we can not NOT hear- so even people sedated as they have an operation on the knee or anything they hear! Putting them under hypnosis they could recall all they heard in detail. Fascination Sound, wow.

So as the pulses and vibrations of our brain regulate to a wave range in a sound bath your nervous system starts to relax, all your organs benefit from this, the good hormones are being produces as your body receives all is well I am safe you can relax you can sleep- into the pinky of your finger. And that pinky starts to love itself- it is happy, it is content. We hope that helped you, now let us dive a bit deeper for all that would like to know more:

As our brains pulsate and vibrate, they create elecromagnetic frequencies that can be measured just like sound- in hz/ cycles per second. There are specific frequencies that influence our brainwaves, our brain wave activity. As we listen to sound & the sound reaches us deep in our cells, deep in our brain- we synchronzize or go up or down to the frequencies we are being immersed in. So this can be used in a way to help us to relax, sleep better- calm down or even have better concentration or support us in a difficult situation. But it can also be used to influence us without us even realizing- that moment when the washing machine stops and you realize it disturbed you the whole time but only realize it once the sound stops? Because sound is powerful! It makes our bodies react and change and we often dont even know about it. Using sound to support wellbeing in a conscious way is thus very important and practicioners of sonic healing, sound medicine, sound healing and therapy techniques should be very aware of that fact. So let us dive a bit deeper into brain wave states here:

14 to 20 hz / Beta Wave Range: we are in our normal daily lives, focused on activities in the external world. High Beta is also possible which leaves us really agitatet and over concerned and hyperactive as we bother with too much of what we should do and needs to be done and now etc (20 to 30 hz, also anxiety is settled here)

8 to 13 hz / Alpha Wave Range: daydreaming, a state of meditations, our eyes are probably closed, drifting

4 to 7 hz / Theta Wave Range: states of deep meditation and sleep, shamanic states but also high creativity (a creativity that's in the flow and not stressed or forced- flow state)

.5 to 3 hz / Delta Wave Range: deepest meditation, unconscious, deep meditation produces delta waves in conscious individuals

30 to 80+ / Gamma Waves: monks that meditate all day might enter this state due to their deep meditation practice, in this state downloads of sacred information, amazing input of creative energy, profound knowings and solutions may suddenly like in a flash.

Note that also people on substance use disorder of plants or chemicals enter different brain wave states, but as Maharaji supposedly said: "They are in a room with Christ.. but they can't stay" (Christ Consciousness or highly evolved spiritual state/ love&unity consciousness)
